Therapy for Depression

Depression is more than simply feeling sad. It can leave you feeling emotionally numb, disconnected from yourself, exhausted by everyday tasks, or like you're carrying a weight that no one else can see. You may find it difficult to enjoy the things you once loved, feel motivated, connect with others, or believe that things can get better. If this feels familiar, know that you are not alone—and healing is possible.

Depression often develops for many different reasons. It may be connected to unresolved trauma, chronic stress, grief, major life transitions, relationship challenges, postpartum changes, or long-standing patterns of self-criticism and shame. While depression can make you feel stuck, it does not define who you are. It is an experience, not your identity.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I believe that depression is often a signal that something deeper deserves attention and compassion. Rather than focusing solely on symptom relief, we'll work together to understand the underlying experiences, beliefs, and nervous system responses contributing to your depression while developing practical tools to support lasting healing.

My approach integrates evidence-based therapy, EMDR, nervous system regulation, and self-compassion to create a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs. Together, we'll help you reconnect with your strengths, rebuild a sense of purpose, and create meaningful, sustainable change.

You don't have to carry the weight of depression on your own. Therapy can provide a space to feel understood, supported, and empowered as you move toward greater hope, resilience, and a life that feels more connected, fulfilling, and authentically yours.
